WCSFA U14 (Y9) Final Squad
A huge thank you to every player who took part in our recent trial process. We were thoroughly impressed by the standard of football, positive attitude, and level of commitment shown throughout.
As weβve said during each trial phase, selection is never straightforward. The quality on display meant many decisions came down to fine margins. This is exactly why we opted to hold a final additional trial, to give ourselves the clearest picture before confirming the squad.
Following a detailed review of performances and video analysis, we are now delighted to reveal the players selected to represent the U14 (Year 9) WCSFA squad, for the coming 2025/26 season.
Congratulations to all selected players!

To the players not selected at this stage:
Please be proud of your efforts, and for representing your school(s). Some selection calls were incredibly tight, and it's important to remember that player development doesnβt follow the same path and at the same speeds for every player. What matters now is your continued effort, enjoyment, and continuation of playing football in the right manner.
π¨ Please note: If you narrowly missed out this time, weβll be keeping a close eye on your development as we progress throughout the season. Our coaches regularly watch school fixtures and are in direct comms with other coaches as part of the Cornwall Player Pathway. Therefore, other opportunities may arise throughout the season, and we encourage all players to attend the trials next season.
Once again, thank you to all players, parents, and schools for your time and support at the trials. Good luck to all players in their ongoing football journey and best wishes for the 2025/26 season.
Kind regards,
WCSFA U14 Coaching Team
Kev & Jacob

WCSFA U14s Trial Decision
Thank you to all players (and parents) for your commitment and effort(s) throughout the WCSFA U14s trial process. The standard of performance across the board has been exceptionally high, which has made the selection process particularly challenging.
We were impressed by the quality, attitude, and potential demonstrated by every player involved. Many individuals are currently operating at very similar levels, making final decisions incredibly difficult, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown during the trials. With this in mind, we have decided to host an additional trial, with smaller numbers attending, so we can be accurate with selection(s) before announcing the U14s Squad for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
While not all players have progressed to the next stage, please understand that this is by no means a reflection of your ability or potential. Selection at this level can come down to fine margins, and we strongly encourage all players to continue their development with the same enthusiasm and commitment. Progress in football is rarely a straight path, every player grows at their own pace, and progress can happen at different times for everyone. We will continue to monitor school fixtures closely to keep an eye on all players, and please remember that district trials are held annually, so a decision now does not determine your future involvement.
π© Important:
We kindly ask that a parent or guardian of each invited player listed below, contacts Kevin Lawrence via email at klawrence@mountsbayacademy.org to confirm attendance for the next trial stage. You will also be added to our mailing list for future correspondence.
